Davis Wheelworks Putah Creek Time Trial 2009 - Davis, CA

10 Miles of Flat Out Speed

The city of Davis, CA is considered to be one of the most bicycle friendly cities in America and what cycling city would be complete without a weekly time trial? Welcome to Davis. The fantastic folks from Davis Wheelworks and Mad Cows Racing Team are putting on a FREE time trial race for everyone. The series run every other Wednesday starting March 25, 2009 until sometime in the fall. If you are in the area, come on by and test your speed and fitness. The winning times on this course is simply amazing.

Time Trial Rules

Start Time: 6:00 PM. Arrive 20-30 min early to sign in.
Position number will be assigned in the order of sign in.
Remember your position number.
Each rider starts at 30 second interval.
If you miss your start time (bad), wait until all others have started.
As you cross the finish line, yell out your number like your life depends on it.

Safety Rules

Wear a helmet.
Ride to the far right of the road. Road is open to traffic. Be especially careful around corners.
If you plan on driving to the TT, park your car on Stevenson's Bridge Road as far onto the shoulder as possible. Park at least 100 ft away from any driveway.
Never ever block the driveway by the start. The owner of this residence is quite perturbed when we block it. This is important for the safety and to maintain the cooperation of the local residents.
When waiting to start or upon completion of the TT, stand off of the side of the road in the clearing.

Course

	The start of the course is approximately 100m down from the intersection of Stevenson Bridge Rd & Putah Creek Rd. The course is dead flat, 5 mi out, 5 mi back. The turnaround will be marked and there will be someone there to flag it.

Take I-80 West
Exit 113 North
Proceed to Russell Blvd
Exit Russell and make a left at the light, heading west
Make a left at Stevenson's Brdg / Rd 95 (at Three Palms Nursery)
Putah Creek Rd. is about 1 mile south of Russell on the right.

From San Francisco:

Take I-80 East
Exit 113 North
Proceed to Russell Blvd
Exit Russell and make a left at the light, heading west

23:10 can't be the women's record, daviswiki lists Molly Van Houweling with 22:57 or 26.14 mph (March 25, 2009).
